Ah, monochrome. Will it ever get old? I've been trying to make a conscious effort to add more colour to my wardrobe but as long as they make pieces like this skirt bright backdrops will just have to do!

Trends are here for a good time not a long time, which is why the thrifty in me will hunt down the best 'on-trend' bargain I can find, like these leopard print shorts for $10.

black friday.

This wouldn't be a bargain hunting blog if I didn't give you guys a little something on one of the biggest sale days of the year: Black Friday.

While this is more of an American tradition thanks to the joys of online shopping everyone can play along at home!

With 'SALE' flashing on every site it can get a bit daunting to sift through what every store has to offer. Seeing as part of the online shopping appeal is that it ISN'T stressful I've compiled my picks from one of the best deals I've seen: Nasty Gal doing 40% off black items.

Enjoy treasure hunters!

With wedding and (in Australia) Spring Carnival racing season upon us, it couldn't have been a better time for $10 off dresses at Beginning Boutique. Now that I've let you all know about it, excuse me while I head back over to the site to score myself a treasure...or 3.

And remember, for regular bargain updates you can join the treasure hunt via Facebook and Instagram.

Go on treasure hunters, get dressy!

Two trends I'm loving right now: asymmetric hemlines and white. When I saw both loves in one item, in my size and ON SALE there may of been an audible gasp involved...

The china blue print. We've all seen it at some point, be it on crockery, porcelain vases or grandmas old tea set. And now it's made a move on to fabrics as an emerging trend this summer.

Sometimes when the rat-race gets you down, the only solution is to race out of town. Thanks to some amazing weather in Sydney last weekend I got my skort on and did exactly that. Destination: Palm Beach.

The weather in Sydney has been down right miserable this past week (of course just as I write this the sun started shining!), but I wasn't going to let that stop me from being treated to a beautiful birthday dinner by the boy- or taking outfit shots!

There is something so soothing about being by the seaside- show me the ocean and I am a happy girl indeed. One of my favorite spots in Sydney is Balmoral Beach in Mosman, and having my partner live just up the road from it means plenty of lazy days by the water.

lace and leather.

I am a bit of a hoarder (aren't we all?) and during a recent cleaning spree I unearthed a pair of Robert Robert lace booties I had bought over a decade ago. They haven't been worn in years but I've kept them out of sentiment. These treasures were picked up at a sample sale for just $20, paid for with my first ever paycheck from my high school job (thank you Burger King!).

When it comes to workplace wear my rule of thumb is 'dress for the role you want, not the role you have'. As shallow as it may seem presentation goes a very long way. That being said there is still room for creativity when power dressing, and today I decided to incorporate mixed prints into the fun.

Saturday night found me at Black by EZARD at The Star to celebrate a good friend's birthday. While my cocktails and meal came with a hefty price tag, I knew my outfit didn't have to.

Saturday night ready for $60?  I'll drink to that!
